The second graders did an amazing job in the previous unit ‘ Habitats’. They successfully designed and build the insect hotels which are providing shelter for the insects during winter time. They ended the unit by learning about food chain, food web and animal adaptations.
Currently, students are busy investigating balance and motion. They are exploring stability and learning the importance of equilibrium. They are getting familiar with concepts such as center of gravity, counterbalance, counterweight etc.
The students are trying various balancing tricks such as balancing a crayfish tag board on their fingers with and without clothespins as counterweights. We will continue to explore ‘Balance and Motion’ in the coming weeks.
